September DT Layout

This assignment was one of my favorites! We had a choice of 3 different packets of paper and products. I chose the packet with these Beautiful Oriental papers, Prima Felt focal points and Artsy accents, and Crepe Paper Ribbon by Jenni Bowlen. My daughter loves the Orient and I knew it would be the perfect papers for one of her NSU Graduation layouts.
We also had to complete 4 of 10 Challenges. I did 5 of the 10:
1. Use the new metallic rub on ink
2. Use punctuation chipboard
3. Use Alcohol inks
4. Distress
5. Use a doodling template to create a background or enhance a print.
For the lo I used black and peach cardstock, cut down the peach, distressed the edges with Brilliance black ink and adhered them layered together. I had 4 different papers, I cut out the cherry blossoms on one, cut the stripe paper in a 7x9" rectangle and the circle paper in an 11x8" rectangle. I traced my parenthesis on the other dragon paper and cut them out. I then put my Prima felt accent onto the cherry blossom paper then cut it out leaving the red background showing. The most fun thing I did was to take the red Crepe paper ribbon and I made flowers. I used chipboard circles to adhere the ribbon and used black bling as the center. I used the frost white metallic rub on ink to distress the flowers. I used alcohol inks on my title. It created a dotted look on the foil which mimics the dots on the circle paper. I also took circle chip boards, used red Brilliance inks to ink them and then accented them using my circle doodling template to mask the dots on them. I made the dots with black stickles. These were to mimic the circles in the circle paper. I also used the alcohol inks to color the Ghost shape Butterfly. I used Stardust stickles to outline it and placed black faceted stones as the body. I also accented the papers with a journaling stamp on the R side of the page and at various places on the lo. I accented around the flowers with black crystal accents. I used Making Memories rub on letters for Suma Cum Laude and Bachelor of Biology. I hope you enjoy this lo. Thanks for checking my blog.

This past week

This past weekend, Jillian and I went to TM with Lauren and Sarah Rozas, for Wendy's Recipe Clipboard class. Everyone's came out so great! We all had different colors and themes, which is one of the things I love about many of the TM classes. You can have one pattern, and they let everyone pick out papers and embellishments to match their own needs. I am sure Janet will be posting everyones on the TM Scrap Happenings blog--check them all out! Anyway, I did this one. It is a Christmas gift for a very dear friend of mine who doesn't have a clue that I have this blog--so I can show it to you. The picture on the left is of her mom, (who died along with her husband, in a car accident when Charlette was 3) and the picture on the R is of Charlette and her daughter Melody. I can hardly wait to give it to her!! This is the Clipboard that Jillian made. It is for her godmother and my BFF. (she also doesn't know about this blog) The picture on the L is Pam when she was a child and the one on the R is of Pam and her 3 kids when they were little. I plan on both Pam and Charlette opening these together!!!
This is my last LO that I did. Rhett LOVES to play Paintball, especially when he is invited to join a friend on his Tournament Team. Since I don't go with them, I am not there to take pictures. Luckily someone took pictures at the last 2 tournaments and emailed them to him. This lo is a scraplift from Connie's last Designer's Eye class. It is from the GRUNGE lo. Thanks for the inspiration Connie!!! Thanks for looking!

A few more layouts

This is my layout that I did at Treasured Memories in September. It was the September Calendar Layout taught by Wendy. I adore the papers and was glad to have a lo for our dressy pictures of our Cruise.
This is one of my last Christmas layouts. I have always been a chronological scrapper.
Since the Design Team, I have really ventured out and done lo's from different years and months. Saying all that--I am still wanting to complete my books by the years. These last 2 layouts have helped me complete my 2005 book. I started scrappin in 2001, so definitely have alot to go, but it feels great to have that year done. I am well on my way with my 2006 book.
Back to this layout--Jillian had gotten a trampoline for Christmas and the 3 teenage boys in our family decided to move the basketball goal near it and play trampoline basketball. They had a great time! I used Basic Grey from the Doner collection for my background paper. The scalloped paper is from the Office Lingo Collection from Pink Paislee. Then I added the trampoline and jump rubons. I think they are from Reminisce. I got them at Treasured Memories in the boys section. Thanks for checking my blog. God Bless!
This was the final 2005 Christmas layout. I used some circle frames from Technique Tuesday, inked them with the Fired Brick from Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I also used some of the Basic Grey papers from the Doner line for the stripes and I cut out the words gift, joy and season, backed them with chipboard and stickled the white word with clear stickles.

More Christmas LO's

This is my try at a one page LO. As you can see, I always do 2 pages. I love this picture of me and my girls. We had gone Christmas shopping and had this picture taken with all our loot. I felt it was appropriate to do a 1 page. I used Moxie papers, the Holiday Swirl and Holiday Surprise. As an accent I used a paper ornament I picked up at Target last year. I then used a scrap of the journaling paper that I had left over. I also stitched around the perimeter. Thanks for checking out my blog.
I have had a little extra time to scrap so I am scrappin some Christmas stuff. I used some more of my scraps for this layout. The papers are Bazzill Cardstock and Basic Grey Doner. I covered a Chipboard Christmas tree with the same papers. I also used the adhesive cover of a Prima Felt accents that I had already used. I traced it then filled it in with Black stickles. I used the new Prima Essentials flowers and Bazzill Bitty Blossoms. The centers are black bling and old buttons I already had.

Recent Layouts

I am still trying to finish some of my Christmas Layouts. This one is simple but I like the clean look of it. I used some of my scraps to finish this lo. I also used stickles on the chipboard holly and the glitter alphabet.

This layout is one I did at the TM Friday nite crop a few weeks ago. I used the new Basic Grey papers and stickles for accents.

Jillian turns 11

I can hardly believe our baby girl is 11 years old. She wanted a Hawaiian Luau. We decorated the back yard in Luau decore, all the girls were invited to wear their favorite Hawaiian gear. They were all so cute! Jillian was so excited to have a hula skirt (she's the one on the Right in the skirt). I even found these cute "coconut" cups for them to drink their Punch. Everyone had a great time. Happy Birthday Jillian!
