April 2008 T.M. Design Team Layout

I had the BEST time with this LO. My daughter took these pictures of my best friends and I goofing around on Good Friday in 2006. I finally found the design to use them for.

The assignment-Must use 1)7 Gypsies ATC Cards (given 3)

2)Use 2 sheets of the Core Coordinations cardstock

3)Use the Glitz Doodle Roller Stamp

4)Use the Maya Road Sheer Sheet

The Challenge - to use at least 3 of the following 8 techniques-

1)Create the layout on the diagonal

2)Use leger paper

3)Tear and roll the edges of the paper

4)Color in your stamp design

5)Use sewing on an embellishment

6)Use an old product in a new way

7)Use fabric or lace

8)Use scalloped edge paper or create your own

I used all 4 items in the assignment. I completed challenges 1, 2, 3, and 8.

I started with the turquoise Core Coordinations and used the Maya Road Sheer Sheet, Scrolls, as a mask. I used my narrow file and sanded the design of the Scrolls onto the Core Coordinations. This showed the design in the lighter color in the cardstock. I then tore a sheet of Kaiser Stripe/Beach House and wet the inside edges and rolled them. I took the remnants and used the coordinating stripe on the left and right edges of the layout. I layered the Sea Spray over the stripe. I then took the Doodle Roller and stamped the design as an edge to the papers, using white ink. I tore and rolled the edges of the orange paper and used it to mat my 5x7. I also cut flowers in 1, 2, and 3 inches on the Jasmine Font on my Cricuit, using the orange, pink, blue leger, and Kaiser papers. On the pink paper I stamped with the Doodle Roller to add texture. Everywhere that I had stamped with the Doodle Roller, I came back and colored in the circles with an Opaque jel pen. To assemble the flowers I used Staz On Black ink to color 7 brads, then combined the 4 prints to make 7 flowers. I tore the leger paper in a triangle and rolled the long edge. The leger paper also had scalloped edges. I placed this in the bottom R corner and journaled on it. I also used Black gross grain ribbon to "tie" the rolled edges on the leger paper and the R & L side of the layout. After placing my pictures in a diagonal pattern, I then adhered 2 of the 7 Gypsie ATC Cards together, placed them to use as a mat for my title. The title was cut from my Cricuit in Jasmine Font in pink and Orange. I had some left over plastic alphabets and used them for the "out" in my title. I then used rub ons to accent and add some more black.
