Design Team Group Projects

August DT meeting Group Project

Each of us were assigned a theme. We were to create a LO of that theme. We worked on it together at our meeting, using new products from the store. I was given "Childs Birthday".
I used the new paper by Glitz for the accents across the pages. The R & L edge is also from glitz. I cut the striped paper up to have the green edges. I used the Prima flowers and the Bling for the flower clusters. The title is Black Bazzil cardstock and I used the Jasmine font on the Cricuit. This layout is of Jillian's 9th Birthday party. The girls had turned on a CD and were dancing around in their PJ's and singing at the top of their lungs! I included some pictures of Jillians expressions while opening gifts.

September DT Meeting Group Project

For this DT meeting, Melissa emailed all of us a sketch. We were supposed to bring our pictures and design a LO, using her sketch. The sketch had 2 4X6 pictures, a title across the page (either Vertical or Horizontal, its our choice), a 5X7 picture, journal lines, 3 rectangles in a row and one square. I chose to place my title across the top Horizontally. The ribbons are the journaling lines and the circle picture is my square. I used the accents across the bottom R to be my rectangles.

These are some of my favorite pictures of Rhett. I also love this line from Little Yellow Bicycle! I used the Nita Bella Collection. The background is the Harlelquin. I also used the scalloped Deja Views in Dark Blue under my title and on the R page. I used the Deja Views in Olive Green to mat the 2 4X6 pictures and for the outline of my title. The accents are the chipboard from the Nita Bella Collection by Little Yellow Bicycle and the Title is the new Bare Elements (be.) Ocean Sparkle foil alphabet. The ribbons are from the ribbon bins at TM and scraps from the Olive Green page.

Our DT meeting have been fun because we have these cool assignments to do. Next month is going to be great. I am already working on that LO. Thanks for checking in. I am glad to be up and running again. God Bless!

July 2008 Design Team Layout

This month we were told we could use anything we wanted. The only rule was that we had to complete 3 of 10 challenges. I completed the following:
1. Use a different Scrapbook style
2. Create a collage of pictures
3. Must use 5 different products from 5 different manufacturers
4. Use a product you have not used in 3 or more years.
We received this assignment 3 days before my family left for Cancun. When I returned and started working on my LO, the only thing I wanted to scrap were vacation pictures. I really like the way these pictures came out! These pictures were of our day at Maroma Beach in Playa Del Carmen. After we went snorkeling, Kevin and I relaxed under these "Palapas" while Jillian played on the beach and Rhett went ATV riding. The view from our "hut" was so peaceful and beautiful. I relax every time I see these.
OK, now back to the LO. I am not a simple scrapper, therefore I decided to go way outside my box and use a different scrap style. I used a sand cardstock as the background. I centered the collage of pictures leaving a space for journaling. I used a screenprint in that corner and sewed blue "lines" for my journaling. These lines were how I attached the screenprint. I used blue ric-rac on the top left and bottom right corners. I attached shells from the beach in the corners as accents. My title is Thickers that I covered with sand. The word "Beach" are tiles I purchased about 4 years ago (product over 3 years) from Sarah Heidt. I distressed the edges with blue chalk and I journaled with an Inkssentials Opaque Pen.

August 2008 DT Layout

WooHoo, I just borrowed my dear friend's camera to be able to post this picture. Thanks a bunch Marlene! We were allowed to use whatever we wanted but had to do 3 out of 10 challenges. I did 1. Monocromatic layout, 2. have more than 3 textures-- paper, brads, wood, ATC transparency, ribbon, twill, vellum, paper clips, staples, safety pins, and Tim Holtz grunge board 3. Use tags.
I LOVE these pictures. They are from Rhetts last day at Eunice High. Most of the Seniors rode to school, down Bobcat drive on ATV's, Tractors, Lawn mowers, etc. I was so glad to have been able to capture this fun and joyful day!
I used the new papers by Basic Grey as my background. I tore the grid paper to use as the photo mat for the large picture and used a piece as the journaling block in the center of the collage on the R. page. The title and the words "the", "last day", and "Senior" are from some older alphabet stickers from American Crafts. I attached them to chipboard and cut them out. I picked up some tire tread ribbon at Treasured Memories. I scattered this down the L side with some raffia, and I also hung some on the R side through the collage. I attached all kinds of "textures" along these ribbons. I stamped Twill with the words, "remember", "enjoy the journey" and the date . I attached these to the tire tread using screw brads, safety pins and photo holders. I inked a key from Tim Holtz Grungeboard and a wooden R that I had in my stash. Both were attached by zots on to the tire tread. I stamped "celebrate" on a velum tag and attached it with another screw brad. I also took a tan tag from MM and stapled an artist trading card to it and to the lo. As accents around the large photo, I attached a paper clip and a photo holder with a screw brad. I hope you enjoy
