Toni Guillory and her daughter Simone came with us. Erin and I stayed with them while we were in Cali! Ceci and I went to Santa Barbara that day.

Wow, what a busy Summer! Sorry I've been gone so long--4 days after my last post, Kevin's Mother passed away. We had the funeral and are still mourning the loss of an AWESOME mother in law and Grandmother! Had Jillian's Dance Recital the day we burried Mrs Lou and the next day. The next two weeks we tried to get our lives somewhat "normal". Went to New Orleans for a friends daughters wedding, then went to California the next week with my oldest Daughter, Erin. Missed my husbands birthday and Fathers day so made up for that when I returned. Celebrated my son, Rhett's 20th Birthday and left 2 weeks later for our summer vacation--a Cruise to Progresso Mexico and Cozumel. Whew!!!!!! That brings me up to today! Now we are just preparing for the new school year. Erin starts her 2nd year of Medical School Monday July20th. Go Erin!!!! Jillian will be a 6th grader and has grown so much this summer that NOTHING fits from last year! We are starting a weight loss contest at the Studio this week so I know I will still be busy! I have gotten to scrap a little in between everything. Am taking a class from Wendy at TM this weekend and hoping to get back into the crop mood. Thanks for sticking with me, I will try to post more often!

These are some pictures from the fitness retreat

Wow! I hadn't realized its been so long since I've posted. My world has been topsy turvy since I returned from NY. Kevin's mom's health has been declining. Throughout the last month she has been put into the nursing home, fell and broke her leg, had a subdural hematoma and was hospitalized. She is back at the nursing home and holding her own.

At the same time Toni and I at the Studio had a Fitness Retreat at Chicot State Park, we cooked, talked and worked everyone out pretty hard! It was alot of fun and took alot of planning. In between all this we had 2 weekends of Recital pictures for Jillian.

I haven't been able to scrap any pages because of all this. I have been making travel journals! I was so pumped!!!! After several people saw the journals I made for my sisters, 4 people asked me to make some for their own trips to New York. I have JUST finished the last one and will be delivering it tomorrow! Whew!!!!! I love making them but want to do a "Summer" themed one. I am hoping to be able to get back to scrappin some pages by next weekend.

Thanks for checking in to my busy life!!!

We're Back!!!

Having lunch at "Juniors". We had a great visit!

New York will never be the same now that the Fruge Girls have left!!! haha What a trip!!!! We walked all over Manhattan! As much as I am used to working out, I don't think I have ever walked so much in so many days! From the time we woke up, till we went to bed we were walking! And up and down those steps to the subway!!!! I kept reminding my sisters that they were put there to be our interval workouts!

Good Morning America was a blast! Got to see one of my favorite Country Artists, John Rich and was seen on TV by family and friends. My feet are blistered, I am sleep deprived and I have memories to fill 5 scrapbooks! Once I have recovered I will start scrappin and postin. Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by!

New York Bound!!!

WooHoo!! I love this dotted swiss paper and it went with the pictures so well I just had to use it! I was able to get many angles of Jillian's baptism and enjoyed putting them all on this layout.

This layout was of Kevin's family. His father had had a heart attack and everyone came to Eunice when he was released from the hospital. He is doing fine and I was able to get a picture of them all!

This is a layout I have been waiting to try. As you can probably see, I don't like a lot of white space. But I felt that these pictures needed white space. I am so glad I recorded our annual process of dying eggs. I finished it a few nights ago. I love these glitter papers, and even though it is a layout for my son the colors matched their tuxes perfectly! I cannot believe it has already come and gone. What a weekend it was! First of all--the girls at TM ROCK!!! Monica, Connie, Melissa, Wendy, JoDeen, Corinn, Mandi,Heather and Janet did a GREAT job keeping things going and organized this weekend. Thanks girls! Also, Heather B., and Lisa G from the 2008 design team worked their booties off to help the TM girls.

Anyway--I have to say, Friday night Toni Guillory and I shut it down at 2am. I knew I would do it at least one night. We also had a great class Friday for the Paris Travel Journal. Thank you to all who attended. It was a long class and I appreciated your attention. Yalls journals came out so good!

I promised some pictures of the layouts I did. I have a few finishing touches to do on my last one so I'll post it later this week. These are all single pages, I think I like scrappin one page layouts. Thanks for checking in and leave a comment if you can.

Treasured Memories Mega Crop

Hey everyone! We are so very proud of their performances. This was both of their 1st time doing Solo's. Great Job Jilly & Zoe!!!! I will post it when I get them.

thanks for checking it out.

Here is another single page layout I just did. Jillian loves cats, and this was the first cat we ever had. His name was Tigger! This cat was special, he would let Jillian carry him around and play with him like a baby doll. He also hung out with our outside dog Belle. They would sleep together in the dog house when it was cold and they would play tag with each other. The girls performing solo's get "good luck" gifts for each other. I decided I wanted to make small clipboard frames for each of them. I matched the colors of the girls costumes to the papers and flowers on their individual frame. I purchased these small acrylic clipboards at Walmart and covered them with the papers. I placed the photo mat in center and embellished with flowers and bling. On the back, I have each girls name, Song title and the year. I am happy with these results. They are cute, and didn't take too long to make. Wish us luck next weekend! Go Jilly!

Valentines Day

I wanted everyone to see the Beautiful flowers my children sent me for Valentines Day! I like the fact that you can use one or 2 pictures and they don't look lost. This one was pretty simple, I covered the chipboard circles with coordinating papers and inked the chipboard flowers. After that I just layered papers and pictures.

I like this layout. I really like this paper from Fancy Pants. It is the "Office Space" from The Daily Grind collection. I also used a Fancy Pants transparancy over the center picture. I stickled the designs then stickled the red flowers and used bling on them. I also inked some Tim Holtz Grunge Board, and used some left over tickets to journal. The Birthday title is some old stickers I found in my stash. I had made part of mine but had run out of the same papers that I had used for my sisters journals. This past week something hit me and I found some creative juices to finish MY New York Journal. I like all the tags and pull outs. I am a "list maker" and I always record my daily activities when I am on a trip (you know, I am afraid I will forget the order that I did things in). Anyway--I wanted to post this one because I think it is my best yet. Thanks for looking. I am hoping to scrap this weekend so maybe I will post more next week. I can only hope!

TM Nov & Dec Calendar LO"s

December Calendar Class LO. Sorry its been so long, but since the last post life has been crazy! Not only was there Snow, Christmas, New Years and the start of my busy season at work (Everyone wants to work out now!) but I had a bout of bronchitis that kept me feeling bad for 4 weeks and my Mother in law's health has been dwindling. All that being said, I am still blessed beyond my greatest imaginations!!! My husband and I are both employed, my daughter Erin is doing well in Medical School, my son Rhett is working and making us proud, and Jillian is keeping me on my toes with 5th grade and Dance Competition. I have done some scrappin, and have included some of what I've been doing since November. The book was loaded backwards(sorry) but here it is. I made 5 of these before Christmas. My sisters and I are going to New York in March for the 1st time. I decided to make each of us a Travel Journal for Christmas!!! Talk about keep me busy!!!! This is one of the finished products. I used New York and Sister papers to do the album. In March Treasured Memories is putting on a Mega Crop. Wendy Reaux and I will be teaching a class similar to the journals above. Go to Treasured Memories website and get a peak andsign up if you like it. It is hard to believe that our year on the Treasured Memories 2008 Design Team is already finished! I have had such a great time and really enjoyed working with Melissa. She Rocks!!!!! The other 5 women, Lisa G., Jeanne, Mandy, Heather and Charlotte are wonderful women and I have learned so much from all of them. We had so many good times and laughs that I am really going to miss getting together with them! Anyway--tonight we get to vote on the new DT and turn in our last assignments.
For this assignment we were given the following products from Tim Holtz; trinket pins, mask, journaling tickets, adage tickets, fragments and grunge board. We had to use all products on our layouts. We also had to complete 5 of 13 trends on our layouts. I used the following 5 trends-
1. Use Tim Holtz Distressing embossing powders
2. Use water with Tim Holtz distress inks
3. Use buttons
4. Combine tags and distressing
5. Use paint
I used my TH mask on black Card stock. I painted over the mask with periwinkle Lil Davis paints. I then trimmed down 2 sheets of Basic Grey Urban Prairie Bonnet paper. I adhered the Bonnet to the Card stock. This is how I got the Blue border for the lo. I then took 4 of the Grunge Board squares and used the Tim Holtz Black Soot Embossing powder to distress the squares. I adhered these to the 4 corners of the lo. Then I painted the title with the periwinkle paint. The title is from Chip chatter the hip collection. I backed my big picture with Basic Grey Urban Prairie "weather vane". After adhering my pictures I added the embellishments on the left side and right corner. I used a TH Journaling ticket and distressed it with TH Tattered Rose Embossing powder. I then distressed the edges with TH Distressing Ink "weathered wood". I also distressed some TH grunge board swirls that I had with Black Soot Embossing Powder. I used Paper flowers by Bazzill in Primula White. I used TH Distressing ink "weathered wood" and "Black Soot"on the flowers then sprayed them with water to soften the look. I also distressed the edges of the TH Adage tickets. I adhered them with the Trinket pins. I added the word Sparkling to the title using rubons from MM "simply stated" font. For the TH fragments I glued them using clear stickles to papers by Basic Grey, from the Urban Prairie line. The papers were the weather vane and wild flowers. I ran some ribbons in black and pink shear through the holes and adhered it to the grouping. I also used various flowers from Prima-Essential 5 collection and Sandi's favorites, Scuba Blue. I used buttons from my collection for the centers . Lastly I stamped the journaling lines from my clear stamp collection and black soot. Thanks for checking my blog and good luck to the new DT.

DT Oct Group Project

For our October meeting, we had to pick a name of another DT member. I picked Heather. The person we picked sent pictures to us and we were to create a layout for them. These pictures were of Heathers' girls during a ceremony at their school. They were releasing some balloons that were bound together and shaped like a rosary. I found it a challenge, but I enjoyed the challenge! I used the new Doodle Bug Glitter papers in white and red speckle from TM. I also cut out the design from the Prima Paintables. I highlighted the dots with black stickles, I used Prima felt flowers with bling and I used the white prima paper flowers, inked them with black soot and used the new inkables inks to shine them up. The center is black bling. In the upper corners I inked Tim Holtz grungeboard flourishes the same as the flowers. I went to our local Christian bookstore, found a beautiful rosary (not a blessed one) and used it on the left upper corner. I hope Heather likes it.

September DT Layout

This assignment was one of my favorites! We had a choice of 3 different packets of paper and products. I chose the packet with these Beautiful Oriental papers, Prima Felt focal points and Artsy accents, and Crepe Paper Ribbon by Jenni Bowlen. My daughter loves the Orient and I knew it would be the perfect papers for one of her NSU Graduation layouts.
We also had to complete 4 of 10 Challenges. I did 5 of the 10:
1. Use the new metallic rub on ink
2. Use punctuation chipboard
3. Use Alcohol inks
4. Distress
5. Use a doodling template to create a background or enhance a print.
For the lo I used black and peach cardstock, cut down the peach, distressed the edges with Brilliance black ink and adhered them layered together. I had 4 different papers, I cut out the cherry blossoms on one, cut the stripe paper in a 7x9" rectangle and the circle paper in an 11x8" rectangle. I traced my parenthesis on the other dragon paper and cut them out. I then put my Prima felt accent onto the cherry blossom paper then cut it out leaving the red background showing. The most fun thing I did was to take the red Crepe paper ribbon and I made flowers. I used chipboard circles to adhere the ribbon and used black bling as the center. I used the frost white metallic rub on ink to distress the flowers. I used alcohol inks on my title. It created a dotted look on the foil which mimics the dots on the circle paper. I also took circle chip boards, used red Brilliance inks to ink them and then accented them using my circle doodling template to mask the dots on them. I made the dots with black stickles. These were to mimic the circles in the circle paper. I also used the alcohol inks to color the Ghost shape Butterfly. I used Stardust stickles to outline it and placed black faceted stones as the body. I also accented the papers with a journaling stamp on the R side of the page and at various places on the lo. I accented around the flowers with black crystal accents. I used Making Memories rub on letters for Suma Cum Laude and Bachelor of Biology. I hope you enjoy this lo. Everyone's came out so great! We all had different colors and themes, which is one of the things I love about many of the TM classes. You can have one pattern, and they let everyone pick out papers and embellishments to match their own needs. I am sure Janet will be posting everyones on the TM Scrap Happenings blog--check them all out! Anyway, I did this one. It is a Christmas gift for a very dear friend of mine who doesn't have a clue that I have this blog--so I can show it to you. The picture on the left is of her mom, (who died along with her husband, in a car accident when Charlette was 3) and the picture on the R is of Charlette and her daughter Melody. I can hardly wait to give it to her!! This is the Clipboard that Jillian made. It is for her godmother and my BFF. (she also doesn't know about this blog) The picture on the L is Pam when she was a child and the one on the R is of Pam and her 3 kids when they were little. I plan on both Pam and Charlette opening these together!!!

This is my last LO that I did. Rhett LOVES to play Paintball, especially when he is invited to join a friend on his Tournament Team. Since I don't go with them, I am not there to take pictures. Luckily someone took pictures at the last 2 tournaments and emailed them to him. This lo is a scraplift from Connie's last Designer's Eye class. It is from the GRUNGE lo. Thanks for the inspiration Connie!!! Thanks for looking!

A few more layouts

This is my layout that I did at Treasured Memories in September. It was the September Calendar Layout taught by Wendy. I adore the papers and was glad to have a lo for our dressy pictures of our Cruise.

This is one of my last Christmas layouts. I have always been a chronological scrapper.

Since the Design Team, I have really ventured out and done lo's from different years and months. Saying all that--I am still wanting to complete my books by the years. These last 2 layouts have helped me complete my 2005 book. I started scrappin in 2001, so definitely have alot to go, but it feels great to have that year done. I am well on my way with my 2006 book.

Back to this layout--Jillian had gotten a trampoline for Christmas and the 3 teenage boys in our family decided to move the basketball goal near it and play trampoline basketball. They had a great time! I used Basic Grey from the Doner collection for my background paper. The scalloped paper is from the Office Lingo Collection from Pink Paislee. Then I added the trampoline and jump rubons. I think they are from Reminisce. I got them at Treasured Memories in the boys section. Thanks for checking my blog. God Bless!

This was the final 2005 Christmas layout. I used some circle frames from Technique Tuesday, inked them with the Fired Brick from Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I also used some of the Basic Grey papers from the Doner line for the stripes and I cut out the words gift, joy and season, backed them with chipboard and stickled the white word with clear stickles.

More Christmas LO's

This is my try at a one page LO. As you can see, I always do 2 pages. I love this picture of me and my girls. We had gone Christmas shopping and had this picture taken with all our loot. I felt it was appropriate to do a 1 page. I used Moxie papers, the Holiday Swirl and Holiday Surprise. As an accent I used a paper ornament I picked up at Target last year. I then used a scrap of the journaling paper that I had left over. I also stitched around the perimeter. Thanks for checking out my blog.

I have had a little extra time to scrap so I am scrappin some Christmas stuff. I used some more of my scraps for this layout. The papers are Bazzill Cardstock and Basic Grey Doner. I covered a Chipboard Christmas tree with the same papers. I also used the adhesive cover of a Prima Felt accents that I had already used. I traced it then filled it in with Black stickles. I used the new Prima Essentials flowers and Bazzill Bitty Blossoms. The centers are black bling and old buttons I already had.

Recent Layouts

I am still trying to finish some of my Christmas Layouts. She wanted a Hawaiian Luau. We decorated the back yard in Luau decore, all the girls were invited to wear their favorite Hawaiian gear. They were all so cute! Jillian was so excited to have a hula skirt (she's the one on the Right in the skirt). I even found these cute "coconut" cups for them to drink their Punch. Everyone had a great time. We were to create a LO of that theme. We worked on it together at our meeting, using new products from the store. I was given "Childs Birthday".
I used the new paper by Glitz for the accents across the pages. The R & L edge is also from glitz. I cut the striped paper up to have the green edges. I used the Prima flowers and the Bling for the flower clusters. The title is Black Bazzil cardstock and I used the Jasmine font on the Cricuit. This layout is of Jillian's 9th Birthday party. The girls had turned on a CD and were dancing around in their PJ's and singing at the top of their lungs! I included some pictures of Jillians expressions while opening gifts.

September DT Meeting Group Project

For this DT meeting, Melissa emailed all of us a sketch. We were supposed to bring our pictures and design a LO, using her sketch. The sketch had 2 4X6 pictures, a title across the page (either Vertical or Horizontal, its our choice), a 5X7 picture, journal lines, 3 rectangles in a row and one square. I chose to place my title across the top Horizontally. The ribbons are the journaling lines and the circle picture is my square. I used the accents across the bottom R to be my rectangles.

These are some of my favorite pictures of Rhett. I also love this line from Little Yellow Bicycle! I used the Nita Bella Collection. The background is the Harlelquin. I also used the scalloped Deja Views in Dark Blue under my title and on the R page. I used the Deja Views in Olive Green to mat the 2 4X6 pictures and for the outline of my title. The accents are the chipboard from the Nita Bella Collection by Little Yellow Bicycle and the Title is the new Bare Elements (be.) Ocean Sparkle foil alphabet. The ribbons are from the ribbon bins at TM and scraps from the Olive Green page.

Our DT meeting have been fun because we have these cool assignments to do. Next month is going to be great. I am already working on that LO. Thanks for checking in. I am glad to be up and running again. The only rule was that we had to complete 3 of 10 challenges. I completed the following:
1. Use a different Scrapbook style
2. Create a collage of pictures
3. Must use 5 different products from 5 different manufacturers
4. Use a product you have not used in 3 or more years.
We received this assignment 3 days before my family left for Cancun. When I returned and started working on my LO, the only thing I wanted to scrap were vacation pictures. I really like the way these pictures came out! These pictures were of our day at Maroma Beach in Playa Del Carmen. After we went snorkeling, Kevin and I relaxed under these "Palapas" while Jillian played on the beach and Rhett went ATV riding. The view from our "hut" was so peaceful and beautiful. I relax every time I see these.
OK, now back to the LO. I am not a simple scrapper, therefore I decided to go way outside my box and use a different scrap style. I used a sand cardstock as the background. I centered the collage of pictures leaving a space for journaling. I used a screenprint in that corner and sewed blue "lines" for my journaling. These lines were how I attached the screenprint. I used blue ric-rac on the top left and bottom right corners. I attached shells from the beach in the corners as accents. My title is Thickers that I covered with sand. The word "Beach" are tiles I purchased about 4 years ago (product over 3 years) from Sarah Heidt. I distressed the edges with blue chalk and I journaled with an Inkssentials Opaque Pen.
Products used:
Thickers by American Crafts
Sara Heidt tiles
Bazzil Cardstock
ricrac --Wrights by Trim Tec
Inkssentials Opaque Pen
chalk

August 2008 DT Layout

WooHoo, I just borrowed my dear friend's camera to be able to post this picture. Thanks a bunch Marlene! We were allowed to use whatever we wanted but had to do 3 out of 10 challenges. I did 1. Monocromatic layout, 2. have more than 3 textures-- paper, brads, wood, ATC transparency, ribbon, twill, vellum, paper clips, staples, safety pins, and Tim Holtz grunge board 3. Use tags.
I LOVE these pictures. They are from Rhetts last day at Eunice High. Most of the Seniors rode to school, down Bobcat drive on ATV's, Tractors, Lawn mowers, etc. I was so glad to have been able to capture this fun and joyful day!
I used the new papers by Basic Grey as my background. I tore the grid paper to use as the photo mat for the large picture and used a piece as the journaling block in the center of the collage on the R. page. The title and the words "the", "last day", and "Senior" are from some older alphabet stickers from American Crafts. I attached them to chipboard and cut them out. I picked up some tire tread ribbon at Treasured Memories. I scattered this down the L side with some raffia, and I also hung some on the R side through the collage. I attached all kinds of "textures" along these ribbons. I stamped Twill with the words, "remember", "enjoy the journey" and the date . I attached these to the tire tread using screw brads, safety pins and photo holders. I inked a key from Tim Holtz Grungeboard and a wooden R that I had in my stash. Both were attached by zots on to the tire tread. I stamped "celebrate" on a velum tag and attached it with another screw brad. I also took a tan tag from MM and stapled an artist trading card to it and to the lo. As accents around the large photo, I attached a paper clip and a photo holder with a screw brad. August was just as busy as July. We had our DT meeting last night and got our August assignment. Everyone had great LO's! Mine isn't posted yet because I am having MAJOR problems with my camera!!!! I had to ask Lisa G. to take a picture of my LO and send it to me. I will post it as soon as I get it. Therefore, I have included some pictures of our AWESOME vacation in Cancun. Our whole family just adore the beach, and the Cancun Palace Resort in Cancun. I will post my LO as soon as I receive it. God Bless and thanks for checking in.

Summer 08

Boy, this has been the busiest summer I have ever had!!!! I have taken 2 scrap classes at TM since June 1 and done 3 other lo's. I have been running between clients, the kids and hubby. We had Rhett start his first full time job, Erin headed off to Wales for one month, move her into her appt. in Shreveport, Jillian taking cooking classes, teeth pulled, braces and Dance classes. Whew, I am tired just thinking of all that has gone on this summer. When I realized I hadn't touched this blog, I felt I should explain. I would love to post some layouts, but don't think I'll have the time until August. We leave for Cancun soon and I am busy getting the family ready for that. Hope all have had a good summer, God Bless your Fall and I'll be back ASAP. Thanks so much for checking in. My daughter took these pictures of my best friends and I goofing around on Good Friday in 2006. I finally found the design to use them for.

The assignment-Must use 1)7 Gypsies ATC Cards (given 3)

2)Use 2 sheets of the Core Coordinations cardstock

3)Use the Glitz Doodle Roller Stamp

4)Use the Maya Road Sheer Sheet

The Challenge - to use at least 3 of the following 8 techniques-

1)Create the layout on the diagonal

2)Use leger paper

3)Tear and roll the edges of the paper

4)Color in your stamp design

5)Use sewing on an embellishment

6)Use an old product in a new way

7)Use fabric or lace

8)Use scalloped edge paper or create your own

I used all 4 items in the assignment. I completed challenges 1, 2, 3, and 8.

I started with the turquoise Core Coordinations and used the Maya Road Sheer Sheet, Scrolls, as a mask. I used my narrow file and sanded the design of the Scrolls onto the Core Coordinations. This showed the design in the lighter color in the cardstock. I then tore a sheet of Kaiser Stripe/Beach House and wet the inside edges and rolled them. I took the remnants and used the coordinating stripe on the left and right edges of the layout. I layered the Sea Spray over the stripe. I then took the Doodle Roller and stamped the design as an edge to the papers, using white ink. I tore and rolled the edges of the orange paper and used it to mat my 5x7. I also cut flowers in 1, 2, and 3 inches on the Jasmine Font on my Cricuit, using the orange, pink, blue leger, and Kaiser papers. On the pink paper I stamped with the Doodle Roller to add texture. Everywhere that I had stamped with the Doodle Roller, I came back and colored in the circles with an Opaque jel pen. To assemble the flowers I used Staz On Black ink to color 7 brads, then combined the 4 prints to make 7 flowers. I tore the leger paper in a triangle and rolled the long edge. The leger paper also had scalloped edges. I placed this in the bottom R corner and journaled on it. I also used Black gross grain ribbon to "tie" the rolled edges on the leger paper and the R & L side of the layout. After placing my pictures in a diagonal pattern, I then adhered 2 of the 7 Gypsie ATC Cards together, placed them to use as a mat for my title. The title was cut from my Cricuit in Jasmine Font in pink and Orange. I had some left over plastic alphabets and used them for the "out" in my title. I then used rub ons to accent and add some more black.

Products Used: Bisous PDQ tag papers -(Pink)

Kaiser Esperance/sea spray (large torn paper)

Scenic Route yellow stripes on wom/beach house(orange)

Creative Imaginations "Narratives" (leger paper) turquoise

Hambly Vintage Corners Rub ons

7 Gypsies ATC cards

Core Coordinations Cardstock, turquoise

Glitz Doodle roller stamp

Maya Road Sheer Sheet, "Scrolls"

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lisafrugejohnson.blogspot.com/2008/05/april-2008-tm-design-team-layout.html' title='April 2008 T.M. Jillian has some great examples to follow after!

Erin has Graduated!!!!

We are so PROUD of our Daughter, Erin!!! For the longest time I couldn't come up with an idea. The products we were given and HAD to use were:

1. Fancy Pants Ghost Shapes (I was given a variety of spring shapes)

2. Fancy Pants Transparencies (I was given a page of stripes)

3. Doodling template (I was given a circle template)

I began with white cardstock and took coordinating chalks and "smudged" circles all over. I also wet the edges and distressed them. I made some small tears then stitched them up with the DMC floss. Then I used the doodling template and traced circles all over to coordinate with the circles on the transparencies. I then hand stitched the circles in coordinating floss. I used the ghost shapes for the title," Live, Love, Laugh" and the photo corners around the picture. I wanted to maintain a transparent look to them so I used Ranger Inks to color them as if the colors were smudged together. I took the transparencies and cut around the circles on them. I decided to use them randomly to add color to the layout. I took 1- 5x7 Picture. The mat for the picture is the Fancy Pants "Wild Child" paper, framed by the Office Lingo Collection parenthesis. Once all this was on the LO I used buttons, buttons and buttons. I tied the buttons with the DMC floss and placed them everywhere there were circles on the transparencies and paper. I also made buttons by taking some clear buttons from Heidi Grace and adhering circles to them that I cut from the transparencies . I did the same with some Giant Buttons I had in my stash. Finally I hand journaled in some of the hand stitched circles.

I completed the following challenges

1. Use Buttons and/or create Buttons

2. Tear paper

3. Use 1 picture

4. Hand journal

5. Hand Stitch

6. Use paint or chalk

Treasured Memories Design Team #2

We were given products from TM and rules of how to not use the products. We were to fulfill at least 3 out of 8 techniques. I was given the orange laser cut paper from KI and Buzz & Bloom chipboard and frames. We had to use some of each product but didn't have to use all.

The rules--The chipboard couldn't be painted, glittered or stickled. We also had to include 3 of the following 8--1. use lots of pictures, 2. layer, layer, layer, 3. use 2 techniques to do your title, 4.use laser cut paper not as background, 5. use sewing on layout as a design, 6. use ephemera, 7. journal in a new way, or 8.use cut out designs from patterned paper. *I used 5 of the 8--woohoo!!!

I used Bazzill White and Black card stock. I used my laser cut paper as a mask to make a silver border around the white card stock. I used silver metallic paint pen to color the laser paper and the chipboard corners and accents. I then tore the laser paper and used it as the back for my journaling block and to balance my LO on the right side and under the frame. I used 4 pictures (one 8x11). I then took the chipboard frame, cross, photo corners and long petals and covered them with crinkled aluminum foil. I dripped Ranger alcohol inks in Slate and Currant over the foils and let it dry. I layered everything, including my grandfathers obituary card. I then tied burgundy and black ribbons onto the laser paper, and the frame. I accented the perimeter, cross, photo corners and flowers with burgundy dew drops. I copied a page from my grandfathers memory book and aged it. I then took Heidi Swapp Ghost letters and used the laser paper as a mask to ink them. I adhered ribbon and glued them down. My journaling block is distressed with silver ink, torn and in my own handwriting. Whew!!! By the way, I dreamed about this layout, then completed it within a week. This is dedicated to my Paw Paw!

Rhett

This layout was inspired by Jeanne Pellerin's DT "All about Me" LO. I was inspired by making the paper flowers at TM so I created this layout. I used Bazzil Cardstock, and pastel papers (not sure who's). I used my George font to cut the flowers on my cricuit in both the printed papers and a plain white paper. I then used Scrappy glue to adhere the them together, curled the petals while wet and glued a button in the center. I used the scraps, cut into 2/3 inch strips then basket weaved them. Once the design was put together I used pastel green stickles to do the swirls and stems.

Melissa's Technique Tuesday Class Creation

During the afternoon on Sat., March 15th I also got to attend Melissa's Technique Tuesday Class at Treasured Memories. It began at 3pm and I finally left at 7pm. (I also shopped a little bit) The layout we created used the TT Puzzle chipboard. We also used the crackle paints, rub-ons and stamps. What I loved about this layout is the colors. It was great to be able to use my son's pictures. This will go into his Senior Album. I included pictures of Rhett fishing, playing paintball, a senior picture, football and homecoming pictures. Melissa did a GREAT JOB creating, and teaching this class. She is so much fun!

TM March Calendar Class-2008

I got to spend the day at Treasured Memories this past Saturday, 3-15-08. I used Chip Chatter "tall" chipboard letters and left over letters from my "stash". I also used two fabric tags that I had, and I stamped the A for football and attached a painted wooden F for Friday. We have three children, Erin-22, Rhett-18, and Jillian-10. Above all else, I am blessed to have the family that I do. God has given me an awesome companion and wonderful children--I am proud of them all!! I am a Certified Personal Trainer/Pilates Trainer and absolutely love Step Aerobics!!!! I have the greatest clients and love helping them make lifestyle changes. As for my scrapbooking, I am well known around my friends and family for always having a camera with me. When I get an afternoon to do nothing, you can usually find me in my scrapbook room, trying to catch up.

2. What is your scrapbook style? I am not really sure, but I think it is more shabby with alot of pictures.

3. How long have you been scrapbooking? I grew up as an Army Brat, so I have always collected memorabillia of the places and experiences I have had, but I have "officially" been scrapbooking for 6 years. My passion began with me going to a home scrapbooking party just to be polite to a new friend. Within a year I was well into the hobby. Once I was introduced to Treasured Memories I went crazy!!! Life has never been the same!!

4. Who do you scrapbook? My children, vacations, special occasions and friends. My son is a senior at EHS so I am trying to get his Senior Scrapbook up to date.

5. Name your top 3 tools. My cricuit, paper piercer and circle cutter.

6. How are you inspired to get started on a layout? My pictures and the story behind them inspire me, but sometimes I see a layout in a magazine that I like, and it also inspires me.

7. Do you have any great tips to share? I don't know if it is a great tip, but, I have so much stuff in my stash of scrap supplies, so I make sure I use at least one item on each layout that I have in my stash. I feel that it helps me be more frugal. I also think we need to relax when scrapping, this is a great hobby that lets us express our love for our families in such a special way--if we relax we tend to be more creative.

8. What is your favorite 3 embellishments? Chipboard, Distressing Inks, and Stickles.

9. What is your favorite paper line? Basic Grey, without a doubt.

10. What is your favorite way to journal? I really dislike my handwriting, even though I want my heirs to have it recorded, so I struggle with this. I like to do hidden journaling on pull outs, but I have recently been writing on my pictures or around some element on my pages.
